A surge in new event bookings at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre is set to deliver a £50m economic boost to the city.
The upcoming conferences and meetings are expected to bring nearly 54,000 delegates to the Scottish capital, with several multi-year contracts extending through to 2031.
Medical conferences account for more than £17m of the projected economic impact. The bookings coincide with the 300th anniversary of the University of Edinburgh’s Faculty of Medicine this year.
Other secured bookings span the finance, charity, education, and technology sectors. Major upcoming events include the International Marine Conservation Congress and the World Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage Conference.
The Aerosol Society, a client of the venue for over two decades, has also confirmed a multi-year agreement for its Drug Delivery to the Lungs event from 2029 to 2031.

Since opening in 1995, the venue has delivered more than £1bn in total economic impact to the city.
