Joely Andrews is eyeing silverware after joining Hibernian FC Women on a two-year deal.
The 24-year-old midfielder has a knack for lifting trophies, having won over a dozen trophies back home in Northern Ireland with childhood club Glentoran as well as last season’s ScottishPower Women’s Premier League with Hearts.
Andrews now makes the switch to play in Green & White, with the Northern Irish international raring to go in Leith after signing a contract until 2028!
“It’s really good to get here and get in on my first day,” she told Hibs TV.
“I’ve been learning a lot of things about the Club just from signing and speaking to the staff. So, it’s really good to be here.
“Playing against Hibs in the last two seasons, it’s always been a really competitive game and I think it’s a style that I can fit into here. Being in the city of Edinburgh as well, I love it here.
“You know, Joelle is a massive figure in Scottish women’s football,” Andrews added. “I think it’ll be really good to learn from all her experiences. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Alongside a healthy list of accolades accrued, Andrews has also put her stamp on the international stage.
The energetic midfielder has earned 35 caps for Northern Ireland, even appearing at her nation’s first-ever major international tournament appearance in 2022 at the Euros.
Andrews wholly admits that international honours mean the world to her, though she also shows great pleasure in collecting club honours.
“It’s the biggest honour to represent your country, and so it’s really important for me that I’m here at a place that’s going to push me to be the best player that I can be, so I’m always ready to go if the international call comes,” Joely continued.
“I think once you get a taste for something like that, you know you’ve got that fire in your belly to go after it again.
“I know that Hibs is a club and a team with a lot of ambition, and I think that’s something that I really want: to help bring silverware back to the Club.”
