The Water of Leith starts at the Colzium Springs in the Pentland Hills just above Balerno and trundles down on a 20-mile journey through the South-West of Edinburgh and into the sea at the port of Leith.
The 12.25-mile long, Water of Leith walkway from Balerno to the sea is a key leisure artery, well-used by cyclists, dog walkers and joggers plus anglers who seek to tempt brown trout to their fly.
Local MP, Dr Scott Arthur, believes the river is one of his constituency’s “defining features” and he wants to understand more about how people use what he calls an “important space”.
He also wants to know what they prioritise and what focus for improvement people would like to see.
Recently, the South-West Edinburgh MP released a survey to understand more about user experience and it is still available for access on https://forms.office.com/e/ZyF8z1FNkW.
And, he is hosting a public meeting to provide an opportunity to discuss the findings and to find out what works well and were improvements could be made.
Everyone is welcome to the meeting, there is no need to book, and the date is Thursday, June 18 at 7pm in the Ogston Hall of Balerno Parish Church.
He said: “Whether it is positive comments about the Water of Leith that you would like to share, concerns about the area, or something you would like to see changed, I want to hear directly from residents.”
