Capital Theatres has announced its new line-up of shows for the Festival Theatre and the soon to open King’s Theatre.
West End phenomenon Hadestown (15 – 29 Jun 2027) comes to Scotland and the Festival Theatre for the very first time. The eight-time Tony Award winner including Best Musical and Grammy Award winner for Best Musical Theatre Album offers audiences an unforgettable journey to the Underworld and back in the production’s first UK tour.
The Festival Theatre continues to be the very best place for dance in Scotland with the newly announced It’s a Sin (8 – 12 Jun 2027) co-produced by Capital Theatres, inspired by Russell T Davies’ 80s TV drama and choreographed by Rambert’s Artistic Director Benoit Swan Pouffer. Dance audiences are in for a treat withNorthern Ballet’s Gentleman Jack (1 – 3 April 2027)a major new ballet telling the story of Anne Lister as she navigates 19th century society, choreographed byAnabelle Lopez Ochoa and co-produced with Finnish National Ballet.
Scottish Opera has unveiled details of its 2026/27 season including five new stand-out productions at the Festival Theatre: Turandot (11 – 22 Nov 2026), Alcina (25 – 27 Feb 2027), Fidelio (26 Feb 2027), Madama Butterfly (27 May – 5 Jun 2027) and Così fan tutte (29 May – 2 Jun 2027).
Other highlights at the Festival Theatre include the return of Scottish Ballet’sThe Scandal at Mayerling (22 – 24 Apr 2027) and the stage debut of television inspired favourite Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift (28 Apr – 1 May 2027). At the King’s Theatre, audiences can look forward to psychological thriller Before I Go To Sleep (25 – 29 May 2027) starring Giovanna Fletcher and comedic powerhouse Jimeoin with his BALLYHOO! tour (14 Mar 2027).
