Alloyed Collective Presents tonic. at Dr Neil’s Garden from 2 to 5 July.
This is a free exhibition exploring the healing art of craft and making.
Set within the tranquil surroundings of Thomson’s Tower, overlooking Duddingston Loch in Edinburgh, ‘tonic’ brings together jewellers Andrea McCarthy, Sasanqua Link, and Lyndsay Fairley alongside invited artists and makers in a thoughtful presentation of contemporary applied arts.
The exhibition considers how acts of making, and the objects that emerge from them, can offer moments of restoration, presence, and connection. Through jewellery, objects, and craft-based practices, visitors are invited to reflect on the ways carefully made work can ground us in the present and encourage contemplation amid the pace of everyday life.
Open from Thursday to Sunday, 11am–5pm, visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition, meet the makers, and experience the unique atmosphere of one of Edinburgh’s most cherished garden spaces.
The exhibition opens with a launch event on 2 July from 5–8pm, offering a first glimpse of the work during the long light of midsummer. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy refreshments and explore the gardens before viewing the exhibition.
‘tonic’ invites visitors to slow down, engage with the work and its setting, and leave with a renewed sense of what careful attention can mend.
