A bus stop on Princes Street has received a makeover ahead of the Scotland national team’s 2026 World Cup campaign.
The bus stop has been redesigned to look like a dugout and wouldn’t look out of place at the side of the pitches over in the USA this summer.
The traditional grey metal seats within the shelter have been replaced with more comfortable leather-style seats matching the navy blue of Scotland’s home kits, and emblazoned with the national team’s crest as well as the JD Sports logo.
The shelter itself is also now navy in colour, and features more of the team crest and the JD logo, as well as some adverts showing folks modelling some of the national side’s kit.
Around the shelter are also the words “We’re in” repeated throughout, most likely in reference to the fact this summer’s tournament is Scotland’s first appearance at a World Cup since 1998.
The 28-year wait to see Scotland back on the biggest international stage in world football officially comes to an end next Sunday, 11 June, when the men’s side face Haiti in their first game.
Hosted at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Scotland fans who haven’t made the trip to the States are in for a late night, with the game not kicking off until 2am GMT due to the time difference.
The team has been in training in Miami this week, and face Bolivia in a friendly warm-up game today at the Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey, with a 9pm kick-off time.
Meanwhile, the women’s national team decimated Israel in their penultimate World Cup qualifier in Budapest, with goals from Erin Cuthbert, Lauren Davidson, Kirsty Hanson and a hat-trick from Caroline Weir securing a 6-0 victory. The final qualifier is also against Israel on Tuesday.
