With the temperature peaking at 24 degrees in Edinburgh, and less than a five per cent chance of rain, crowds have gone to the beach to cool off.

As the Scotland’s men’s team prepare to face off against Brazil tonight in Miami, Edinburgh is only a couple of degrees cooler than the national capital, Brasilia, while São Paulo is having a deluge of heavy rain. Miami is basking in 31 degrees with a very small chance of rain at 5 and 6pm.

The downside of the good weather is the high pollen count, but going to the seaside is regarded as one of the best things to do for hay fever sufferers.
