A celebration was held to remember rugby legend, Scott Hastings, who died last month from cancer, aged 61, only eighteen months after his wife Jenny.
On Saturday hundreds of his friends and former team-mates gathered with his family at his old school, George Watson’s College on Colinton Road, to celebrate his life, all wearing bright coloured clothes.
Scott was a member of the 1990 Grand Slam winning side, and earned 65 caps for the national rugby team. He became a broadcaster and fundraiser for many charities, including My Name’5 Doddie, in memory of former rugby player, Doddie Weir who died from MND.
Scott Hastings was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2022. He is survived by his son Corey and daughter Kerry-Anne, as well as his brothers Graeme, Gavin and Ewan.
