Peter Kildemand and debutant Jordan Jenkins combined as Berwick Bandits powered back from eight points down after six heats to edge Glasgow Tigers in the Cab Direct Championship the Borders.
And Glasgow team manager, Cami Brown, admitted his Allied Vehicles-backed team blew a great chance after going down 46-44 and his men must pick themselves up as they travel to Oxford Cheetahs on Wednesday.
A 5-1 scoreline in the second last race proved decisive and Brown said: “It’s a very frustrating result. I’m absolutely gutted.”
Tigers looked comfortable in the early stages with evergreen Chris Harris back to his best, but sportingly Brown said: “Fair play to Berwick, they came back at us.
“Peter Kildemand was excellent coming back from injury and they had an excellent debut performance from Jordan Jenkins.”
The Glasgow boss added: “For us, it’s massively disappointing to lose the meeting from the position we were in. It’s a win that definitely got away.
“Our top three were pretty decent, but we just aren’t firing all together on the same night. The boys have got to find an extra level now, especially the middle order.”
