Edinburgh teenager Olivia Murphy has been selected for Great Britain Gymnastics development squad – the only Scot in a group of around 30.
A member of the Meadowbank club, Olivia, 13 has been travelling to Lytham St Annes for training under the supervision of her own coach, Amy Heron.
Olivia’s proud grandad, Martin Murphy told The Edinburgh Reporter : “Olivia specialises in bar, horse, floor and beam exercises.”
The Meadowbank club are equally delighted with Olivia’s progress and posted on social media about her “strong and consistent” performances at Scottish and British Championships earlier this year.
The post adds: ”This opportunity is something incredibly special and a true reflection of the dedication and hard work Olivia puts in. Dreams really do come true.
