Glasgow Tigers’ team manager, Cami Brown, warned his men that visitors Workington Comets have a team packed with riders with abiity who like Ashfield.
The Cumbrian side visit on Friday (tapes-up 7.30pm) in the Cab Direct Championship and Brown demanded that his Allied Vehicles team “deliver more”
Brown said every rider needs to improve after what he called “an up and down start to the season” and he added: “We need to hit our stride now.
“The home defeat to Edinburgh was a difficult one to take, but the boys responded really well against Plymouth. That was the reaction we were looking for.”
He conceded: “After a home defeat there is always a great deal of noise. I understand the frustration of the fans, losing at Ashfield cuts deep. I’m still a fan, I know how it feels.
“There is always an immediate clamour for changes in the team, but we had to see what the reaction was from the side and it was excellent. All the boys rolled their sleeves up.”
The younger riders, he said, have taken time to settle, but they have all shown, at times, what they are capable of.
Brown declared: “The club stands firm that this is a very good team. Every rider needs to deliver more. If they can do that, we can reach the play-off.
“We need to get behind the boys, give them the proper support and see their belief grow and prosper.”
