Incident involving armed police in Longstone

Armed police responded to an incident in Longstone on Sunday.

The street was locked down by police in what has been described as “concern for a man”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7am on Sunday, 26 April, 2026, police received a report of a disturbance and concern for a man at a property on Longstone Street, Edinburgh. 

“Officers remain at the scene.”
