Boroughmuir Blaze youth basketball section have had a season to remember with all four teams winning play off finals.

 It is the first time in club history Blaze have had a clean sweep across all youth levels at the play offs, something no other Scottish club has achieved – ever.

  • The under-16 boys are triple champions after winning their league, Scottish Cup and play offs. In their final they were emphatic 103-65 winners over Glasgow Rens with Darko Agyapong named Most Valuable Player with 27points, four blocks and 18 rebounds.

The rest of the squad comprised – Ryan Baxter, James Boag-Thomson, Seth Burgess, Alex Campbell, Ethan Cole, Krishna Dwivedi

Blair McNeill, Carter McSweeney, captain, Alex Moss, Kyle Sievwright, Michal Troscianko.

 Most valuable player for the under-16 girls who beat Highland Bears 66-60 was Amie Gaye with 15 points and eleven rebounds. The rest of the squad – Kirstin Pollard, Maria Spadavecchia, Emilie LeMay, Emma Harbisher , Lovisa Rova, Skye Cathcart-Mud, Heather Lang, Ella Harrison, Aoibheann Russel, captain, Alice McMillan, Brisa Ramedhan. Reserves –  Yasmin Kleczek Ahmed and Hamayel Chowdhury.

  • Amy Cosgrove captained the under-18 girls to a 78-51 victory over Falkirk Fury with Clara Dick MVP after contributing 23 points as well as six assists and 12 rebounds. The rest of the squad who were coached by Bart Sengers assisted by Rose Harvey comprised –

  Emma Harbisher, Abby Harbisher, Eva Holburn-White, Noura Saleh, Isla Turner, Aoibheann Russel,  Emily McLennan, Amie Gayle, Lovisa Rova, Libby Harrison

  • Adding to the successes the under-18 boys saw off Falkirk Fury 90-66 in their final. Most Valuable Player was Omar Navarro with 20 points and nine rebounds. The rest of the squad-  Darko Agyapong, Ewan Anderson, Seth Burgess, Charlie Ellaway, Laurence Evans, Humza Fadel, Lennon Kemp, captain, William Lang, Gruffydd McEwan, Carter McSweeney, Zach Rova.

Coaches for both boys teams were Michael Langsen (head coach) and Luke McCraken (assistant).
