Five sitting West Lothian councillors and a former county MP have set their sights on seats in Holyrood.
Three will go head-to-head in the new Bathgate Constituency on 7 May.
For the first time, the Scottish Parliamentary election has divided the county into three new seats thanks to population changes.
Former SNP MP Martyn Day is bidding for the new Linlithgow and Falkirk East constituency. He represented a similar constituency at Westminster from 2015 until 2025. Before that he served as a council leader in West Lothian.
In Bathgate Conservative Peter Heggie, the depute Provost, will face depute SNP group leader on the council, Pauline Stafford, and recently elected Whitburn Reform councillor David McLennan.
In the Almond Valley constituency Angela Constance, who served in the last parliament as the Justice Secretary, will be defending a seat she has held since 2007 against contenders including the Conservative group leader of West Lothian Council Damian Doran-Timson.
Elsewhere West Lothian’s sole Lib Dem councillor, Linlithgow’s Sally Pattle, will be fighting for the Clackmannanshire and Dunblane constituency and the Mid Scotland and Fife Region.
The count for two constituencies, Bathgate and Almond Valley will take place on 8 May in West Lothian College. Linlithgow’s vote will be counted in the new constituency of Linlithgow and Falkirk East, probably in Grangemouth.
West Lothian also moves into a new regional area away from neighbouring Lothians to a new Central Scotland and Lothians West region.
