Police in Northumberland appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
It happened shortly before 8.40pm on Wednesday, January 28, on the A1 at Highfields Roundabout, near to the junction with the A1167 North Road.
The driver of a black Peugeot 407 Coupe was travelling southbound when the car come off the road onto a nearby embankment.
Emergency services attended where tragically a passenger from the car – a woman aged in her 40s – died at the scene.
The driver, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The woman’s next of kin continue to be offered support by our officers.
A police spokesperson said:”Our investigation remains ongoing, and we’re now especially keen to hear from anyone who sighted the vehicle in Scotland earlier that day.
“This includes any drivers who were travelling between Dundee and Northumberland in either direction from approximately 2pm to 8.40pm, and those with dashcam footage.”
