A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a spate of vehicle related crime in Edinburgh.
Between December 2025 and February 2026, officers investigated a series of incidents including thefts from motor vehicles, attempted thefts, Section 57 offences and thefts of motor vehicles.
The North East Local Initiative Team identified a male responsible for these incidents and on Monday 2 February 2026, a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with 19 offences.
He was held in custody to appear at court on Tuesday 3 February, where he was later released on bail.
In the early hours of Saturday 7 February, officers responded to a report from members of the public that a male was trying car door handles in Latta Place. The same male was traced, arrested and charged. He was held in custody to appear at court on Monday 9 February.
These offences occurred across several streets, including Kekewich Avenue, Willowbrae Avenue, Ulster Crescent, Hamilton Grove, Wakefield Avenue, Sydney Terrace, Latta Place and Northfield Drive.
