Carlton cricket club held their annual prize giving in the Grange Loan pavilion when among the winners was Sarah Beith (women’s 1st X1 fielding and also the 2nd X1 batting trophies).
Sarah, right, pictured receiving her trophy from Scotland internationalist Sam Evans, only took up cricket five years ago but certainly makes up for lost time having played a remarkable 40 matches last season.
Pictured receiving an individual trophy too is 3rd X1 stalwart Brad McKay. Brad finished top bowler for the fourth time in five years and received his trophy from Carlton president, Bob Irvine.
A shout out too for the 5th X1’s Keith Murray who was again top batter – the fifth time in six years.

Among those unable to attend were Olly Davidson who is in Australia but would have taken home several awards including best bowler (where he was top wicket taker in the EPL), fielder (top catcher in EPL) and six hitter – 18 in all – although in one innings alone recent in Australia he hit 11 in an innings of 102no).
Currently in South Africa is Dan Da Costa who won the 1st X1 batting prize and was recently named in a Scotland winter training squad along with club mates Olly Davidson and Chris McBride.
The women’s batting award was claimed by Abbi Aitken-Drummond.
