On the stroke of midnight (although a couple of seconds before Master of Ceremonies, Susie McCabe, on the main stage at Ross Bandstand, had finished counting down), the seven minute long firework display began from Edinburgh Castle.
This was indeed a fabulous pyrotechnic display. The weather held, the wind was just enough to move the smoke along, and the crowd was entirely appreciative as it ended.
The 10,000 fireworks orchestrated by Titanium Fireworks were both colourful and innovative. Some of the fireworks may have been saved since last year when all events were canceled due to weather.
