Two cyclists have been taken to hospital following a collision involving an unoccupied van in Edinburgh city centre.
The incident took place shortly after 4pm yesterday Saturday 27 December 2025 on Picardy Place.
Emergency services including police vehicles and ambulances attended the scene and a 25-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were taken to hospital for treatment.
The reason for the collision it is not known at this time.
Officers said that their enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.05pm on Saturday, 27 December, 2025, we received a report of an unoccupied van having collided with two cyclists on Picardy Place in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and the cyclists, a 25-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
