A high bid of £3,000 has secured the one-of-a-kind Christmas jumper which Sir Andy Murray wore in the Walker’s Shortbread adverts.

The funds will go to Cash for Kids, a charity devoted to helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK to thrive.

The festive sweater, featured in the Speyside company’s Christmas advert, was designed to celebrate Andy’s love of Christmas jumpers and his shared Scottish heritage with Walker’s. It is a traditional Fair Isle design adorned with Walker’s shortbread fingers and triangles, adding a unique twist to the festive classic.

As part of the winning package, the winning bidder also received an exclusive pack of Walker’s Shortbread Festive Shapes personally signed by Andy Murray.

Fans who missed out on the auction can still purchase a replica of Andy’s festive jumper, available exclusively online via the Walker’s Shortbread website. All profits from the sales of these jumpers will also go to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas initiative, allowing even more children to experience the magic of Christmas.

Nicky Walker, Managing Director at Walker’s Shortbread, commented: “We are delighted to see such an incredible response to Andy Murray’s Walker’s Shortbread Christmas jumper.

“Thanks to the generous bids on Andy’s jumper and the sales of our replica Christmas jumpers, we’re thrilled to have supported Cash For Kid’s Mission Christmas appeal.

“As a business rooted in community values, we are especially proud to support the incredible work Cash for Kids does, both in our local Highlands community and across the UK, particularly during this time of year.

“We hope these funds help bring smiles to children in need this festive season.”

Emma Brown, Cash for Kids Partnerships & Brand Director, said: “We were so happy to be chosen as the beneficiary of Walkers Shortbread Christmas jumper campaign.

“Christmas time is particularly difficult for far too many families, but with the support of incredible partners like Walker’s Shortbread, we can be there when they need us most.

“On behalf of the Cash for Kids team, thank you to everyone who bid in the auction or bought a replica jumper. The funds raised will ensure Santa is able to visit an additional 350 children this Christmas.”
