Weekly pizza perks served up thanks to local food heroes
Mondays just got a whole lot tastier for hundreds of unsung heroes working behind the scenes to power Edinburgh’s voluntary sector.
Staff at Norton Park in Leith, home to more than 20 charities, can now tuck into freshly made pizza with generous discounts, thanks to a local partnership with community-minded business, Pizza Geeks.
The independent Scottish charity behind Norton Park confirmed the initiative is part of its mission to support third sector workers, while also strengthening community ties and backing neighbourhood businesses.
Pizza Geeks is known across the capital for its socially conscious ethos, having already delivered more than 48,000 pizzas to good causes through its award-winning Pizza for the People programme.
Now it has turned its attention to rewarding the dedication of Norton Park workers with a sizzling 50% off on Mondays and a 20% discount the rest of the week, simply by showing their staff badge in-store.
Keith Robertson, Chief Executive of Norton Park said: “While charity workers are rarely in the spotlight, their work transforms lives across Edinburgh and beyond. This partnership is a way to recognise that and provide something tangible and fun to thank them.”
The offer is redeemable at Pizza Geeks’ popular venue on Easter Road, a stone’s throw from Norton Park’s historic former school building.
Keith added: “Norton Park has always had a strong belief in looking after the people who look after others. Having Pizza Geeks on board allows us to show appreciation in a simple but heartfelt way.”
Established in 1998, Norton Park has grown into Edinburgh’s premier hub for the third sector, offering affordable and flexible workspaces for charities and social enterprises in a fully accessible and eco-friendly setting.
As an independent Scottish charity, it offers high-quality facilities at substantially reduced costs to help partner organisations reinvest more into their core missions.
Meanwhile, Pizza Geeks has become a cult favourite for its geeky branding and quality food, but it’s the brand’s social mission that keeps it rooted in local communities. Its Pizza for the People programme has earned acclaim for helping those experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, or food insecurity.
