The 27th Pipes of Christmas took place in several cities in the US at the beginning of December, and is now available online for anyone who missed the live performances.
The concert is a celebration of Celtic Christmas traditions and doubles as a cultural fundraiser, aiming to raise around $20,000 from ticket sales and donations.
The monies raised support 200+ scholarships and Celtic artists and scholars in the US to continue the traditions of the Celtic nations in the UK including Scotland. The body also commissions new artistic works and preserves five heritage sites, as well as offering support to
The concerts are organised by The Learned Kindred of Currie, a non-profit cultural and educational organisation which aims to preserve and promote Scottish and Highland heritage. The body brings together world-class musicians and performers from both the US and the UK. This is the first year that so many concerts have been held over two weekends.
There were five live performances in Boston, New York City and Summit New Jersey between 5 and 14 December – but a webcast of the concert highlights is available online for a donation, making it an ideal Christmas gift.

The Learned Kindred of Currie continues the 800+ year legacy of the MacMhuirich bardic family, who served as hereditary poets and cultural keepers to Scottish nobility. Today, the organization channels this ancestral commitment to cultural preservation into modern programming that ensures Scottish traditions remain vibrant for future generations.
