Police Scotland’s Road Policing team was out yesterday reminding drivers about the new 30 mph limits on several main routes.
And officers said that it was disappointing to find a number of vehicles still exceeding the limit.
Police Scotland has now issued a quick reminder to drivers: the Highway Code states that unless signs say otherwise, the speed limit is 30 mph on roads with street lighting, other than on motorways.
Red “New 30 mph Speed Limit in Force” signs have been installed to help highlight the change.
On top of the speed checks, officers also recovered a stolen vehicle, detected an overweight vehicle, and assisted with a collision on the M8.
