Graham Carey moved from St Johnstone to Livingston in the summer, after three years with the Perth club, and the left-sided attacking midfielder believes The Lions have made a good start after returning to the top flight.
The West Lothian combine travel to bottom club Aberdeen on Saturday but the 6ft tall player declared: “We are confident we can go there and win.”
Livingston have slipped to ninth in the 12-strong table and have four points from four games. Aberdeen are the only club not to have claimed a point so far, but they have spent cash to bring new players in.
Carey and his team-mates believe it will be a tough game at Pittodrie and he told the midweek media briefing at The Home of the Set Fare Arena that the squad have shown a lot of positives in their early-season fixtures.
They have also found out how difficult it is in the William Hill Premiership to get results.
The 36-year-old added: “We have started really well and we have a tough one coming up, but we are ready.”
Livingston have increased their squad depth in the summer which Carey believes can only assist them going forward given that they will suffer injuries and people going in and out of form during the campaign.
He said: “We have guys who will push the guys in the starting eleven and this will make us stronger as a group.”
The Irish-born player was disappointed that Livingston did not pick up a point against Hearts, and declared: “We were kind of unlucky with the goal, a deflection fell to them and he took it well, but I felt a draw would have been fair.
“That is obviously an eye-opener for us to see how hard it is to pick up points.”
