James Penrice looks set to be leaving Tynecastle for AEK Athens who play in the Greek Super League.
The left-back left the Jambos pre-season training camp in Spain on Thursday and headed for Alicante Airport and the deal is reported to be near £2m.
The defender impressed last season after leaving Livingston on a free transfer and he is understood to have travelled to The Netherlands where the Greek club are hosting a pre-season training camp.
There he will undergo a medical.
The Greek club finished fourth in their top flight last term but his departure will be a blow as Penrice was the Capital club’s best player last season, winning their Player of the Year award.
