Derek McInnes believes his latest acquisition, Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota, can make his mark in Scottish football, given time.
The 23-year-old joins the Jambos on a three-year deal from Italian Serie C side US Sambenedettese for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval.
The player is product of the youth system of KF Vllaznia Shkoder, one of Albania’s most successful clubs, but moved to Italy in 2021.
He scored nine goals for FC Vigor Senigallia in his first season and he increased that tally in the second to ten goals. Kerjota was also productive in goal assists.
A move to Sambenedettese transpired last season scored ten goals assisted in 13 others to help the club to the league title and with it promotion to Serie C.
McInnes (pictured) told Hearts official website that the newcomer will give Hearts more options on the wings.
He added: “Scottish football will be a new experience for him, but we’ve seen attributes that we feel can make him a success here.
“Sabah will need to do a bit of fitness work to bring him up to speed, but I’m looking forward to seeing him on the pitch once he’s ready.”
