Fife Flyers have confirmed the signing of 40-year-old forward Janne Laakkonen who previously impressed in the Elite League with Coventry Blaze.
Laakkonen played 51 games with the Midlands club last season, scoring 13 goals and setting up another 39, and brings a wealth or experience to Kirkcaldy.
The 5ft 9in-tall, left-wing iced for 15 years in his native Finland and has also played in other countires including Sweden, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Norway, Austria and Poland.
Laakkonen admitted that it was always hard to come to play at Fife but added: “After I spoke Todd (Dutiaume) I was impressed that the club really wants to be better this year.
“For this reason, I chose Fife and really want to bring my experience and offensive skills to the team.”

Meanwhile, Kirkcaldy-based Steven Lynch, coach of Edinburgh Capitals, has confirmed the signing of three players, 19-year-old forward Archie Holmes, former Racers forward Jack Wright and defenceman Dean Walker.
