A police investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 66-year-old who was found in a property in North Berwick yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Forth Street around 4.55pm and officers are currently treating the death as ‘unexplained’.

A report on the incident will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware around 4.55pm on Tuesday of a report of a sudden death within a property on Forth Street, North Berwick, East Lothian.

“The body of a 66-year-old man was found and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
