Police Scotland has issued advice to the public following a rise in telephone, email and online scams, claiming to be a bank, HMRC, DWP, Health Board, telephone or broadband to name a few.

They appear very plausible, but if you are in any doubt end the call. Do NOT follow any instructions to move money or buy gift vouchers.

If you are contacted by email or text and suspect this is a scam. The following link can be used to report it and prevent others being scammed.

If a crime has occurred, then call Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
