LOOKING FOR AN EXCLUSIVE USE VENUE NEAR THE CAPITAL FOR A 2020 WEDDING? SAY #WEDATWEDDERLIE

Currently offering private tours to interested wedding parties ahead of its official launch in April 2020, Wedderlie House, between Duns and Lauder in the Scottish Borders, is ready and waiting to offer wedding couples an exciting new venue in which to marry and celebrate throughout the late Summer and Autumn 2020.

Set on a private sixty acre estate, Wedderlie House is a modern and luxurious venue, which still retains its Historic Country Mansion heart. As one of Scotland’s most exciting new destinations, easily accessible from the Capital, it’s USP is offering “not just weddings, but life events you will never forget.”

Owners Jamie and Connie Raine-Fraser are particularly excited about the Summer 2020 launch of their converted stable block, which will create a 130 seater wedding venue, complete with its own sprung dance floor, bar created from the old Shire Horse stalls, ceremony room, and two bedroom apartment above for guests. This venue offers expansive views across rolling countryside from the rear of the building, ands can decorated however the wedding couple choose.

Couples can marry in the stable block, or if they prefer, pitch a marquee at one of several locations on the estate, including a large specially prepared flat area which can take a very large marquee. Outside space is excellent at Wedderlie, with a light festooned courtyard surrounded by dry stone walls, and a tree lined avenue providing stunning backdrops for photographs.   

Forty four wedding guests can be comfortably accommodated on the estate, with twenty two sleeping in the stunningly refurbished main Mansion House, with its eleven well appointed bedrooms. The House is complete with a luxury kitchen, spacious dining room with bespoke elm dining table seating 24, and even has its own Honesty Bar in the library. Brides can get ready in their own luxurious dressing room, and spend their wedding night in the beautiful Bridal Suite. 

Added to the accommodation choices is a cottage with four double bedrooms, and a cosy cabin sleeping four.

“All couples booking for this year will be subject to a discount on our simple hire price,” said Jamie, who is keen to encourage interested couples to arrange a tour of the venue. “Wedderlie can be hired for two nights and three days so it’s ideal for the type of extended wedding celebrations that people want nowadays, where you can really celebrate and then kick back and relax afterwards. The wedding couple can really put their own stamp on a wedding like this!”
