A police investigation is underway after a 19-year-old man was attacked on Oxgangs Road North around 5.50pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police have now appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.50pm on Tuesday, February 25 following reports of a serious assault on Oxgangs Road North in Edinburgh.

“A 19-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
