A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to three separate alleged robberies and an attempted robbery which all took place in the Armadale and Livingston areas between Saturday 9 November and Tuesday 3 December.

He is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant Douglas Gilmour, from Livingston Police Station, said: “I would like to thank members of the public from Armadale and Livingston for their assistance throughout these enquiries, which have been all the more pressing given that two of the victims were vulnerable elderly women.

“It is important for people of all ages to feel safe in our communities, especially as we get closer to Christmas, and I would like to reassure everyone that we will respond to any report and continue our work to keep offenders off of the streets.”
