In our print edition we publish our photo of the month sent in by a reader. This month we were extremely fortunate as photographer Tom Duffin shared some of his extraordinary photos with us.

We chose his Castle in the Air shot which is just beautiful and captures the pinks and blues which are so much a part of the Edinburgh landscape. It is featured on Page 21 of our June issue.

Castle in the Air by Tom Duffin

Tom said : “Haar presents rare gifts and magical moments for a photographer. If you can get above it at just the right time the scene can be breathtakingly beautiful.

“Last May I walked up Arthur’s Seat through the cloud in the dark, and my heart raced a little faster as this scene of Edinburgh Castle, The Hub spire and haar-swept crags opened up in front of me. Only thirty seconds later the whole city had disappeared back underneath the chilly blanket.”

Tom Duffin is an Edinburgh photographer who also teaches workshops and One-to-One sessions for budding photographers – www.tomduffin.com

This month you can see some of his photos hanging on the rich red velour walls of the fantastic Stockbridge institution Patisserie Florentin on North West Circus Place, along with another 11 of his images.
