A woman died and another was injured after being struck by a lorry in in East Main Street, Broxburn around 11.20am yesterday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in West Lothian responded to East Main Street, Broxburn, on Friday, April 5 following a serious road collision.

“The incident happened around 11.20am and involved two female pedestrians and a lorry. “One woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and the second was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with injuries which are not currently thought to be serious.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.21am on Friday, April 5 to attend an incident on East Main Street, Broxburn. “We dispatched two ambulances, our trauma team and special operations response to the scene and one patient was taken to hospital.”
