Sam Judge in action for Scotland

Champions Edinburgh University are now in pole position in women’s Division One thanks to a dominating performance against city rivals Grange.

They were 5-0 ahead at the break and Sam Judge’s squad popped in a sixth in the second-half.

Louise Campbell and rising star Laura Swanson, who impressed in her debut for Scotland’s senior women in the recent internationals against Ireland, plus Hannah McKie and Zara Malseed were among their scorers.

The students move onto 15 points and are ahead of Western Wildcats on goal difference after scoring 27 in six matches and conceding only seven. The West of Scotland club have scored 11 and let in four.

Milne Craig Clydesdale Western are one point behind on 14 along with Dundee-based Grove Menzieshill. Wildcats beat Kelburne 3-0 with Kaz Cuthbert, Emily Cross and Alex Stuart on target.

Grove Menzieshill were held to a 2-2 draw by Clydesdale Western. Emma McGregor put the Glasgow side a goal ahead at the interval.

The Tayside team hit back through Iona Armour and Nicola Skrastin to go 2-1 ahead, but in the closing minutes Millie Brown levelled.

Hillhead edged Edinburgh side Watsonians 2-1 while Dundee Wanderers won 4-0 at GHK.

Teenager Emily Dark, fresh from her Scotland senior women’s debut, scored twice while Charlotte Watson and Rachel Osborne were also on the scoresheet.
