A £3m football venue has opened in Edinburgh offering six covered six-a-side pitches, two uncovered outdoor seven or eight -a-side academy pitches, two uncovered six-a-side pitches, changing and meeting rooms.

Party rooms are also available at Marine Drive, Granton, and Paul Demarco, managing director of World of Football, revealed the project brings him back to the area in which his family founded their first business.

He said: “We have enjoyed a huge amount of success with the first World of Football at the Corn Exchange and we are looking forward to getting involved with the local community.

“Our family business originated from Granton in the 1930’s and we are delighted to be coming back to an area of Edinburgh that is so close to our hearts.”

He said the centre centre can cater for all levels of footballing expertise and has created of over 20 jobs.
