Josh Taylor and Ohara Davies face up during the recent press conference in Glasgow. Promoter Barry McGuigan is on the left

Former world champion Barry McGuigan believes rising Lothians star Josh Taylor will win in style at Braehead on Saturday.

McGuigan is the promoter for Bad Blood when the Scot, nicknamed The Tornado, squares-up to London-based Ohara Davies.

Both fighters have unbeaten records but McGuigan, a former WBA world featherweight champion after a unanimous, 15-round points win over Eusabio Pedroza, believes the Scot is heading for the top.

The bout between the East Lothian fighter and Davies from one of London’s toughest areas is being billed by the promotion as potentially the best domestic fight of the year.

Davies will be Taylor’s toughest opponent to date and the Englishman won his national lightweight title before moving up to super lightweight and capturing the WBC Silver title in November last year.

The confident Londoner stopped former WBO world lightweight title challenger Derry Matthews in the third round.

Taylor, however, believes outbox Davies and McGuigan is convinced his man will win in style.

In the video above the 56-year-old, former fighter, nicknamed The Clones Cyclone, tells Nigel Duncan about Josh’s build-up for Glasgow’s big fight night.
