An Edinburgh restaurant chain Vittoria Group are pulling on their football kit to raise money for one of Edinburgh’s best loved charities.

Vittoria Group FC will go head to head with local radio station select, The Forth 1 Allstars at Meadowbank Stadium’s 3G pitch on Sunday June 11 th at 2pm.

All money raised on the day will go directly to Forth 1’s Cash for Kids, which helps disadvantaged children across Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife.

Organiser Leandro Crolla commented: “The Vittoria Group is passionate in supporting local charity and Forth 1s Cash for Kids is a very worthy cause. It supports children and young people across the area in a whole range of areas in their life. We support the charity all year round raising nearly £50,000 with promotions and events but this will offer a different edge to our usual fundraising.

Forth 1 presenter Mark Martin is hoping for a large crowd on the day: “I work closely with Cash for Kids every week and know exactly how any money is used. There are thousands of children living in difficult circumstances and they need our help, especially with the summer holidays just around the corner. I’m really looking forward to seeing the new Vittoria football team in action, I hope their football ISN’T as good as their food or we’re in trouble!”

The Forth 1 group will feature Edinburgh Festival favourite, comedian Gareth Waugh, celebrity hair stylist Boyd MacIntyre, former Raith Rovers and Hibs player Paul Tansey and other familiar faces on the day.

The Vittoria Group vs The Forth 1 Allstars takes place at Meadowbank’s 3G pitch, Sunday June 11th at 2pm. Entry by donation.
