The Scottish Youth International fly fishing team travel to Llyn Brenig in North Wales for the 33rd Youth International Fly Fishing Competition in August and coaches are determined to bring back gold.

However, the 14-strong squad, which will be chosen soon, need help according to one of the coaching staff, Alasdair Fyfe,

The age criteria is that anglers must be over 13 and under the age of 18 by specific dates.

Mr Fyfe said that the Scottish Youth Team won gold two years in a row in 2014 at Grafham Water, England, and in 2015 at Lake of Menteith in Scotland.

Last year they won silver when the event was held in Ireland on Lough Lein, Killarney, losing gold by a small margin.
