At the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Gala Dinner at the Sheraton the choice was clear as Edinburgh Trams won top honours in the High Growth and Excellence in Health and Safety categories.

The number of passengers has grown by 10% over a year and the judges claimed to be most impressed with that as well as the growth in revenue.

With Health and Safety firmly at the forefront of their operations the company was regarded as putting the welfare of its customers and employees first.

Edinburgh Trams General Manager, Lea Harrison, commented: “We’re delighted to be recognised in this way by Edinburgh’s premier business organisation.

“Our success at the Chamber Awards is testament to the dedication of staff and reflects their hard work when it comes to driving the growth and delivering a safe, reliable and efficient mode of transport for the city.

“This is reflected in the fact that we have increased tram frequency to every seven minutes throughout the day to meet growing demand and have plans to introduce even more services in the near future.”
