Police are appealing for information following a serious assault near to Dedridge Pond, Livingston which took place around 5pm on Friday, October 7, near to the A71 underpass between Muireston and Dedridge.

A 15-year-old boy was approached by two males, believed to be in their late teens, one of whom then assaulted him.

The victim suffered a facial injury and subsequently made his way home with aid of an unidentified man.  He was later treated for his injury at St John’s Hospital, Livingston.

Officers are now investigating and are eager to trace both male suspects.

Both suspects are described as a white males in their late teens.  They both have medium builds and are around 5ft 10” in height.  The suspect who carried out the assault is believed to have been wearing a light blue hooded top.

Police are also keen to trace the man who came the aid of the 15-year-old.

Detective Constable Craig Waddell of Livingston CID said:  “This was a frightening and upsetting attack on a young man and we are eager to trace to two males responsible as soon as possible.

“We would also call on the man who came to the aid of the 15-year-old to come forward to help us progress our enquiries.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time, or who recognises the description of the suspects, is asked to come forward immediately.”
