An experienced Hearts side were held to a 1-1 draw at Cowdenbeath on Saturday afternoon. Gorgie Head Coach Robbie Neilson fielded first team regulars Don Cowie, Billy King, Juwon Oshaniwa, Igor Rossi and Jordan McGhee but the Maroons struggled to make an impact.
The Blue Brazil went in front in the 22nd minute when Renton blasted home Rutherford’s cross from the left.
It was a lead the home side held until ten minutes to go when Hearts Dario Zanatta was brought down inside the penalty box. The young Canadian took the penalty kick himself and made no mistake as he sent keeper McGurn the wrong way to level the scores.
