Hibernian Ladies goal keeper Jenna Fife spoke to Hibs TV during the Tesco Bank Football Challenge event at Easter Road yesterday about the League Cup final against Glasgow City and her hopes of also catching Scott Booth’s team  in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

The final takes place on 15 June 2016, whilst Hibs are eight points behind Glasgow City with a game in hand on their opponents.

Speaking to Hibs TV, she said: “It’s been a good season so far. We’ve recently beaten Rangers to get to the final of the League Cup where we’ll play Glasgow City in the final next month and we are aiming to win but the league’s been going well where we’ve only had one draw and loss so hopefully we can capitalise on that situation and go on to win the league.

“We’ve got our game in hand on them (Glasgow City) and still have to play them a few more times as well. So if we can take points off them, which we’re more than capable of, we can hopefully kick on and keep winning games and catch them”

Jenna also spoke about the squad’s delight of coming out on top in a 4-0 win against North Edinburgh rivals Spartans.

Goals from Lucy Graham, Sarah Ewens, Chelsea Cornet and Siobhan Hunter sealed the victory, with Jenna keeping a clean sheet at Albyn Park.

“The team played fantastic, we kept the ball well and scored some brilliant goals from different areas of the park. It was a professional performance from the whole team so overall it was a brilliant day.”
