Three more men have been arrested and charged for housebreaking offences in Edinburgh as part of Operation RAC.

Sometime between the 6th and 7th February this year a home in East Claremont Street was broken into, however, nothing was stolen during the incident.

Inquiries have been continuing and a 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday and subsequently charged.

He will appear at court at a later date.

Two other men were also detained yesterday in connection with a housebreaking and theft of an Audi A3 from an address in Wolrige Road in May, as well as an attempted housebreaking in the same street in June.

The pair, aged 18 and 20, will also appear in court at a later date.

Superintendent Liz McAinsh said: “Enforcement activity to pursue housebreakers continues each day in Edinburgh, with more and more offenders being brought to justice.

“We will investigate all reports of housebreaking and associated crime and are working hard to address this local priority for our communities.
