In a world infested and dominated by social media bullying and internet porn, issues such as cyber stalking, spiking and sexual crimes are harsh realities of modern life. They seem somehow to have taken a new lighter meaning as society becomes more de-sensitised. Mark MacNicol’s blood chilling thriller “Serve Cold” highlights some of the very real horrors of these issues.

When a middle class doctor enrolls the help of a local prostitute to seek revenge on her cheating ex the plot takes an icy twist. Serve Cold is an exploration of the extremes of love, hate and obsession.

Raising awareness about the services and support available to victims of these issues, is important to the production company. With the support of Rape Crisis Scotland they will include leaflets and helpline numbers in their brochures.

Serve Cold is performed by Reanne Farley as Joy [credits include Annie Sobacz in RiverCity. Fourever/ The Other Amy/ The Last Detective (Granada TV), Inside a Royal Marriage (Channel 4) and by Nicola Clark as Grace [credits include Outlander (STARZ)/ Knife Crime Campaign (Scottish Executive)/ Panorama “Behind closed doors” (BBC)]/ Tenement 12 (Cottiers Lansdowne Theatre).
