Hibs are hoping to announce a loan move for 19 year old Sunderland winger Duncan Watmore today.

The former Manchester United youth player joined Sunderland in the summer of 2013 from Conference North side Altrincham where he made 29 appearances, scoring 14 goals and earning the player of the year and goal of the season awards, as well as helping his side to the first round of the FA Cup with Budweiser.

He is currently studying for a degree in finance and economics and is the son of Ian Watmore, the former chief executive of the Football Association.

The teenager has featured regularly for the under-21 side so far this season and a number of football league clubs were interested in taking him on loan.

He made his first-team debut for the Sunderland earlier this month in the 3-1 win over Carlisle United in the FA Cup.

Terry Butcher recently watched Watmore playing for the Under 21s at the Stadium of Light.
