Comedian Danny Deegan brings his debut show to Edinburgh

After eleven years of learning his craft, comedian Danny Deegan is finally bringing his debut solo show to the Edinburgh festival. With the confidence and swagger that you might expect of a North-West comedian at the very top of his game, Danny Deegan: Life Winner promises to be a memorable show from a man who has had more than his share of scrapes during his time on the circuit.

Danny has made numerous TV and radio appearances since he started performing, and is also a regular at many of the UK’s biggest comedy clubs; performing to crowds ranging from thousands of bikers in a huge marquee, main stages at music festivals, and middle class arts centres in provincial towns, with everyone completely charmed by Danny’s charm and wit.

Described by respected comedy critic Steve Bennett of Chortle.co.uk as “a skilful raconteur” and as having “something of the Dave Gorman about him”, Danny’s debut show will see him recount some of his most memorable life moments, such as:

• the time he got arrested in Kuala Lumpur whilst travelling back from Australia;

• why he found a career in the army wasn’t for him;

• How taking his cousin to a football match earned him a “reputation!”; and

• how he convinced his friend Rob he was on Operation Yewtree’s radar.

This promises to be a memorable show from Danny Deegan, a man who has flirted with success with a nomination for a Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award, as well as being a City Life Comedian of the Year finalist in 2005 – in 2013 Danny Deegan will prove that despite only being nominated in the past, he is definitely a “Life Winner”.
