Police Scotland have confirmed that a man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged armed robbery at a convenience store in Currie on Wednesday 10th July.

The incident took place around 9.30pm on Wednesday at the Scotmid shop in Corslet Place, Currie.

Two men aged 43 and 18 were working inside at the time and a  three-figure sum was allegedly taken.

The 38-year-old is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
