Broadway Enchanté, the show that wowed Paris from July 2012 – January 2013 comes to the Edinburgh Fringe.  Renowned French singer, Isabelle Georges, and her multi-talented 4 piece band (Frederik Steenbrink, Jérôme Sarfati, Edouard Pennes and David Grébil), returns to Edinburgh with her latest show.

From Mary Poppins to West Side Story and Singin’ In The Rain to My Fair Lady, Georges takes her audience on a fantastic journey through the very heart of Broadway.  Fans of classic musicals from composers such as Cole Porter, Gershwin, Bernstein and Berlin are in for an enchanting treat with an added little French je ne sais quoi.

With dizzying rhythm and gaiety, Isabelle Georges proves with virtuosity and originality that musical theatre is far more than a simple boy-meets-girl storyline: so much more than a simple pretext to sing and dance “cheek-to-cheek”.

Between a record-breaking version of Singing In The Rain, retracing the transition from silent movies to ‘talkies’ (in which the audience get a little more than they bargain for) and an irresistible Mary Poppins-like flight, discover the birth of a genre, originating from a melting pot of the music (Yiddish, Operetta, Blues, Jazz, Folk… ) of millions of immigrants singing their hopes of a better life.

Isabelle Georges is well known to French theatre audiences for her roles in Barnum, Singin’ In The Rain, La Périchole and Titanic The Musical and has previously performed at the Fringe in 2005 with Une Étoile et Moi (a tribute to Judy Garland) and in 2007 with La French Touche.
