It’s Good 2 Give has today been announced as Lothian Buses’ Charity of the Year for 2013.

Ian Craig, Managing Director of Lothian Buses, said: “Our staff raise thousands of pounds every year for good causes.  Following a fantastic year working with Lothian Autistic Society, we have decided to make our Charity of the Year for this year another especially deserving, local children’s charity.

“It’s Good 2 Give is a fantastic charity carrying out amazing work supporting local children living cancer and their families. Launched in April 2010 the charity is very pro-active and has big ambitions not only to help local families but to build a purpose built retreat for young cancer patients and their families.”

The decision to appoint an official Lothian Buses Charity of the Year further underlines the bus operator’s commitment to support good causes in the local community.

Lynne McNicoll, Founder of It’s Good 2 Give, warmly welcomed the announcement, and commented:-  “I am absolutely delighted that Lothian Buses have chosen us as the local Charity they want to support in 2013 and we are all looking forward to working in partnership with them.

One of the buses will have It’s Good 2 Give all over it. We are a tiny charity and could not possibly pay for such publicity. This is a very exciting day for us!”

Ian Craig added: “I am very pleased that Lynne is keen to work with us. Hopefully we can help raise awareness of the work her charity does and help them achieve their goals.

“We are all looking forward to working with Lynne and her team throughout 2013.”
